please give me one more goal

i've been studying the whole day today. i would have deserved a ticket to Asean Football Championship, don't you think!!!!!!!! mannnnnn i'd give anything to be there at the stadium. but it's too late now is it? ha. it's cool. BECAUSE SINGAPORE'S LEADING 2 - 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHHAHAA. in your face, Thailand:)

the thais were so melodramatic.. :O okay so they were scared. i would be too. i mean they were against the Lions for crying out loud. it's cool. i understand. muahahahhahahaha. okay.

XOMG i wish i were there!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAARGH. like i was two years ago. with cousin Lili and Dayana, ticket courtesy of Uncle Ayep. was i crazy there, like just lose it, ah ah ah ah! go crazy! screaming my lungs out, cheering, doing the kallang wave. you won't know the atmosphere until you're part of it. because the energy was superb. beats the one at Taufik's concert. ehehe. because unlike the latter, this one's multi-racial. hehehehehhehe. controversial, you!!!!!!!! i wish i were there just now!!!!!!! so so so much!!!!!!!!!!!

it was basically boring, watching the match on my own. hahahaha. actually i wasn't on my own. Mac was watching too:D:D:D:D

the Lions after Mustafiq scored a goal in controversial penalty kick against Thailand.

my gdad very cheeky la...:D fancy picking a fight with me over the colour jerseys. ....either that, or he's really really seriously colour blind.

"NOH! NOH! NOH!" i was shrieking. the side of me you rarely see. because i'm not normally the outbursty type. i'd more towards the opposite of that. when i'm happy, i have a ridiculous face on which is like how i normally look: ridiculous. when i'm sad, i mourn in silence. when i'm angry, even my wrath is maintained. a few swear words here and there and that's all. but just now i was like:

"NOH!!!!!!!! NOH!!!!!!!!!! NOHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"why no?" my sister suddenly cut in. "yes la!!!"

"......no, i'm cheering for Noh Rahman..................."

"oh right. NOH RAHMAN! NOH RAHMAN!"

otherwise known as, Lela's eye candy:) he's like so petite la. yea Lela likes petite guys.

-watches all the petite guys run and disappear from sight-

Aisya, you better make sure you keep Imran far away from me. hahahahahhahahaha. okay. i was just kidding. don't punch me, Aisya!!!!!!!!!!! hahahha.

i think i want to call my future son Mustafiq. and my future daughter Athena. beautiful right! unfortunately i found out we can't adopt kids in singapore. or something. so i guess i gots to have kids the hard way. unless my sisters don't mind that their future kids' names are given by me the elder sister. i don't think so because who'd want to marry them? hoho. okay? go ahead, surprise me.

maybe i'll just adopt kittens and name them Mustafiq and Athena. habis cerita:)

cannot tahan law(lor)

studying HS1082 since 12 today. skipped practical because of that. ..partly:) but anyhoos.

i'm touching on Law and Ethics in this fuck of a module. at first i didn't get it: why include law in nursing??? what's law to do with nursing???? it's got everything to do with nursing, matter of fact. maybe not primarily. hopefully not!!!!!!!!! hahah this is like the serious side of nursing. the serious, downright scary side. let's all pray for future nyp nurses:O i mean, nurses' butts at stake. we can be sued anytime for negligence!!!!!!!!!!!! and you know about singaporeans right? we love to sue.

i regret not paying attention during lectures because i had no clue what the hell it's about. i'm still trying to decipher the difference between law and ethic and morals and its different theories and principles.

huh what? haha, exactly.

right now i'm stuck on Bolam Test and Bolitho Test. was on the net searching and got to this:

‘...the court is not bound to hold that a defendant doctor escapes liability for negligent treatment or diagnosis just because he leads evidence from a number of medical experts who are genuinely of the opinion that the defendant's treatment or diagnosis accorded with sound medical practice. In the Bolam case itself, the use of adjectives responsible, reasonable and respectable all show that the court has to be satisfied that the exponents of the body of opinion relied upon can demonstrate that such opinion has a logical basis. In particular in cases involving, as they so often do, the weighing of risks against benefits, the judge before accepting a body of opinion as being responsible, reasonable or respectable, will need to be satisfied that, in forming their views, the experts have directed their minds to the question of comparative risks and benefits~ and have reached a defensible conclusion on the matter.’

......IN SIMPLE ENGLISH PLEASE????

i'm tearing i swear.

i thought the anatomy of kidney and how urine come about is complex. hohoho.

guffaw is the best medicine

it's tuesday, a little bit to 8.30 am. just had my breakfast. a little pissed because Lina went off to school with my orange abercrombie. it's so freaking cold outside these days. let's give her a hard time when she gets back tonight:)

actually kan, i have other things to worry about like what time does class start today? haha i hope it's not at 9 la hor.

"EH Lela apsal kau macam tinggi semacam nie!" was Kama's enraged outburst that i swear came out of nowhere. she was saying how tall i suddenly seemed:D okay, not really. i just seemed taller than normal. than her, if you allow me to add that. ehehehhehe. i was just about to bask in the glow of the subtle compliment when Aisya cut in:

"it's her hair laaaaa."

GUFFAW.

something hilarious happened outside clinical lab:) Tom or Jerry??? Tom's Dick is Harry????!!

Aisya bought/made me a monthly planneeerrrrrrrrrrrrr. thanks, doll! i've always wanted one. you know, to organize myself. it's this year's resolution. no actually it was 2 years' resolution. this year's is to fucking carry out those resolutions. but anyhoos. i have a monthly plannerrr! i used to have monthly planners. that i painstakingly created. but it was a bitch to draw little squares every month la.

i hope to actually use it now. hahaha. but it's too pretty, the way Aisya had made it for me. all orangey and stuff:D i tried to sit down and start updating the planner. it was a bad idea because all the important dates started coming in and i had no idea it was thaaaaaat close. so i freaked out a little. and went to watch some television.

i got an email from Anne Tay, reminding me to do my elective essay. deadline's 5th and like i've accidentally found out, it's monday next week.

hahahhaahhahaimdoomed.

enjoy your tuesday, loveys.

i'm a leading woman

panic at the disco. my chemical romance. fall out boy. i'm going down a new direction. musically.

i can't believe i agreed to do Syak's essay for her. i think it was the drunkard state that i was in. don't ask. that, or the prize that was resounding in my brain: IPOD MINI.

no i don't want any ipod mini. i'm not an ipod mini person. i stay truthful to my old school discman:D but it's been ages since i had written an essay for a teacher to grade la. and i won't say i will win this contest, but if i were to win it, then Syak can have the prize. undeniably sweet, aren't i?? i think so too:D

i'm just sick and tired of her borrowing my discman.

the deadline's somewhere in February. hm this is hard. seeing that i've my own essay to be graded on the 5th.

what shit have i got myself into.

cousin lili brought over chocolate muffin with cream cheese frost:D the bestest thing i've ever tasted. come on, anything with cheese on it, is good.

it's annoying when i'm using the laptop and my sisters urge me to change the songlist. lina wants michael buble whereas Syak wants some anastasia. what do i look like? a freaking dj?? lina says i'm anything but. suddenly i've changed my mind about listening to some buble. then again guess what? i want to listen to fall out boy and i will listen to fall out boy. so they can wait long long.

we found out our cousin Noris' name came from a combination of her parents' names: Norsiah and Isnin. hence Nor-Is. next thing, lili and i started brainstorming.

"i could have been Rosmail(Rosnah and Ismail)."
"i could have been Osiah(Osman and Salmiah)!"
"......................or Salman!"

GUFFAW.

what could have been your name?

i don't know, i think i like my name. i think la. because i used to hate it. used to hate introducing myself because i would cringe when i say my own name: "hi my name is Le..la...... uhyea. ...LEla. not LEE. thanks.." when i was quite younger, i wanted to change my name to Hannah because it's such a sweet name. then i met Hannan........ then i thought Haney is a sweeter name than Hannah. but Momster says it doesn't suit me. ha-ha.

ah but what's in a name? right?

i am not going studying at the library on saturdays no more. the girl working at the cafe looked at me weird............. and she has that look. saying 'iced cappuccino' has never been so difficult for me now. i think my hair offended her somehow. it's cool, it's cool. my hair's so long already anyway. but going to the hairdresser at this time of the year is like surrendering yourself to daylight robbery.

i made a list of stuff i wanna get. 95% of them cd albums:D i feel almost euphoric when i spend my dough on music. ....and cups of iced cappuccino :O and hot fudge sundae(current craze).

now you know how to make my day right? xD

TAUFIKKKKKK

i thought i love Taufik but apparently i pale in comparison with the rest of the girls who were at the auditorium. heck, there were even some male fans who had the balls and screamed: "TAUFIK WE LOVE YOU!"

i'm beginning to think it's overrated. that, or to put it simply i am boring.

i didn't jump on my feet when Taufik appeared. i didn't scream my lungs out, i didn't even move from my seat. uh the only time i did was when the bitch in front of me kept blocking my view. more like the view of my camera. so i had to shift. resist the urge to whack that girl over the head with my bag.

and what's with the people going, "no video please!" like quit it already! i'm not taking video for crying out loud(of course i am). it's so annoying come onnnnnnnnnnn.

okay honestly? no more. hahahha. NO MORE. i ain't lining up to watch some celebrity perform no more. i used to mock these kind of people but today i was one of them! kindar. well. i'm not a fan. not crazy enough to be called one. though ive always thought he's multi talented and very fucking hot. to tell you the truth, i was there primarily because i thought it'd be a great experience.

everything i do now, is all for experience:D

i get to work my fingers:D

i took over 70 shots of Taufik and ALL OF THEM turned out perfect. i'm not saying it's all because of me HA HA HA. pun unintended.. well, partly because of me.. but mostly because Taufik's perfect. there's not one shot of him that was ..well, ugly. i took so much til my memory card was full and i had to delete some but i couldn't make up my mind what to delete. then i gave up because i wanted to concentrate on The man and so i did and and i was blown away by his powerful vocals.

move aside Justin Timberlake because Taufik brought sexy back, and marked his names permanently all over it.

besides singing songs from his album(which were brilliant), he did covers of So Sick and My Love. all unplugged, cannn??? as in it was all done in acoustic. and you know how i feel about guitar oriented songs la hor.

it was a little past 8 and was glad it was over. HAHAHAHHA. nothing personal though(TAUFIK YOU'RE THE MANNNN!!! I SWEAR YOU ARE!!!), but the screamings and shriekings were giving me a mild migraine. i had to leave the auditorium. girls were queueing to get his signature.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" came another shrilly squeal. "TAUFIK BUKAK BAJUUU!"

i turned just in time to see Taufik taking off his shirt. .............

.....
............
.......................
..revealing a singlet.

LERRRRR.

hahahahhaha i thought i'd die if i ever saw him. i did now. but i took a million shots of him and i'm fine! i think i went into tarchycardiac only when the auditorium light went off and it was real dark and i got a little nervous because i don't like the dark very much? and some more it was crowded? super uneasy.

this taught me something.

that i'm boring.

HAHAHHAHAHA.

no la.. that i guess i'm not the sort. to go crazy. though i am crazy. but not crazy til i lose it and make an ass of myself. not that there's anything wrong with that la. i'm not making fun of those lame ass girls who can't get enough of Taufik. Taufik is irresistible. but back to me, i think if you want to see me really lose myself, give me a ticket to the Asean Cup finale. ..........oh even that i can't guarantee la. unless i get to see Indra Shahdan. then again.......haha i told you i'm boring.

maybe i was hungry at that time.

yea........... i bet if i had some caffeine................

OKAY LA HERE'S THE SHOTS I TOOK. well, just 15% of it. hahahahhaha! the rest is for my eyes only..................... a little dedication: this entry goes to Zafira. enjoy them, my love!

AAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! eh wait that's not Taufik Batisah what the fuck??? hahahhahaha. but look like him kindar right?
just this morning i was listening to them on the radio and i had went, "i hate vendetta's voice." now i got to see her live. aww she's not bad la. Miss V's the one with the cap. Carrie couldn't tahan the noise NYP was making. hey that makes two of us!!
finally the real TaufikLOVEEEEE

i swear he was looking my way. I SWEARRRRRR
Lucky Huda!!! got a hug from Taufik! and the other girl was like :O!!! hahaha. Huda's a senior from Fbodz and she just danced for Taufik!!!!!!!!!! and that other girl had a mini 5 second duet with Taufik. lucky bitches.
haus kappa?

taufik:"who wants to scratch my back?" lela:"uh, everybody?"
Taufik:"crap i forgot my words." lela:"how about i love you, Lela?"
hahahaha okay la i'll just shut up and let the pictures talk to you..

i hope you enjoy them as much as i enjoyed taking them :) later!!!!!!!!!!!

cousin lili at 2am

one of the shots i took last night at the airport. WHAT'S THAT ON THE LEFT?????? :O:O:O

last night was great :) i'm so glad it happened. but let me tell you, the place was packed like sardines la. soooooooooo crowded. when i got out the car, and was greeted by a mass of crowds, like mak kau... culture shock. ..or something. then i got all self conscious hence didn't take as many shots.

that's the shit thing about me. i'm so self conscious. i hate that kindar because i don't know, i believe we should never let anything come between what we want to do and what i wanted to do there at the airport at 2 in the morning was to go crazy and shoot my heart's content. oh and to fetch my relatives la:) now that's a different story altogether. ahhhh lots of love<3

though it was such a hell of an experience last night, im sorry to say i didn't take as many shots as i could. and i could have because the airport is THE place to shoot: lots of people and emotions and behaviours and you gots to be ready and fast and that finger should be on the shutter at all times because once you missed THE moment, there won't be another one like it.

i wish i were more bold, because i missed alot la, basically :( cousin lili was like, "official photography...weak la!" heh. okay lor. sad right? only 2 shots worth to show (off). haha. okay :)

so i got home last night at 4am. UH HUH! thank god lecture was at 11 the next day so it wasn't so bad la... eh school's awright:) lots of drama..... but bio presentation was a goner unfortunately. kua kua kua......

suddenly i'm looking forward to the rest of the weekend :)

football brings out the ugly side of me

if them footballers play topless, then maybe i wouldn't be such a angry spectator la. heh. hehe. indra shahdan!!!!! AAAAHAHHHA. can you point me someone fitter, please? i don't think so:P shut up, i know he's married with 2 kids but i don't care i am so marrying a footballer in the future. i mean they are so fit!

i think i might be heading down changi airport like in an hour's time?

:D:D:D:D:D XOMG IMAGINE THAT. I AM SO EXCITED. my hands are itching...........................................

unfortunately i'm pretty much very sleepy and lethargic(from doing nothing) and i've lecture at eleven tomorrow AND bio presentation after that, something i oughta prepare myself for first la i mean i don't want to let my mates down.

but such an opportunity....at night some more!!!!!! i bet it'd going to be very pretty:)

yellow ticket

i got a ticket to Taufik Batisah's concert at nyp auditorium :D HAHAHAHHAHA. i was so elated. so i thought. but you should have seen Zafira? she was ecstatic. over the fucking moon, and then round the whole galaxy while she was at it. it was a sight though, if you'd let me speak honestly and i'm sure you do. im saying in a good way la hor. to see someone so completely overwhelmed with hysteria, it's crazy to see. in a good way! i am so bringing my camera on friday.

speaking of camera, while i was queuing for the tickets, a girl was giving out papers at the next booth. she managed to thrust one in my hand. i didn't really give a damn about it because TAUFIK BATISAH was in my head like overwhelming occupying o o o. i finally took a look and IT'S A PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION LA CAN?

nah :) better not think about it. but it's so exciting!!!!!!!!! and Eera will be performing too and by this week all presentations will be over and done with so it'd a blast. open house would be a blast, even if nyp is a boring, mundane campus. hah.

first day of school after a month of 'break'. thought i'd be late la, because i had to run back home from the stop to get my student pass/lanyard. was right on time. but lecture started 40 minutes late because of technical problems. not that i was complaining. i didn't have the book anyway. so. there.

so good to see everybody!!!

elton went, "LELA." "what's up?" "what's down? ha ha." so sarah may criticize his hair, but he's still the same lame Eltoh Goh we all know and love. right!!? then paul gave me a surprise. but you know how i hate surprises right? she crept up behind me and covered my eyes. suddenr darkness. instant surge of panic. a familiar scent. "paul marie nicole!" i burst out, turned round and was greeted with a: "NO LELA!!!!!!!" "i literally smelt you down la babe............. :)"

school was only for 2 hours(barely), then after that we chilled out. finally got to see Zaf after so long!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAHHH. i miss her kindar:P

Ai Kim said, "why you always act cute?" hahhahahahaha. two things wrong with her accusation: i'm not fronting, and i'm not fronting. so this 'cuteness' is au naturel. or whatever. it's the hair la hor. i am so cutting it after second posting so no fret.

speaking of hair, Ryan's got a new haaaaaaaaaairdo!!!!!!!! she looks like Felicia Chin kindar. and i have this huge celebrity crush on her because i think she's the cutest thing on earth. BLUSH! anyboo, was at Bishan library the whole day with Ryan yesterday. covered alot of sociology chapters i'm sooooooo proud of myself :)

i found out i cannot study with Kama and Aisya though. which is sad because they are homies you know? tried to study today, at Coffee Beans. it was a futile attempt. effort was there though. we kept telling each other off however in the end, we joined in the chat. if you can't beat them, join them right? heh. anyways, some Project Superstar finalist was there as well, and he attracted so much attention from the crowd and it wasn't helpful at all.

if it were Taufik Batisah, i think i'd just die and go to heaven.

something weird happened at kfc. some kid approached and as nonchalantly as ever, went like, "can you buy me cheese fries? and milo." at first i thought he was just joking. but he stood there expectantly, looking at us. i wanted to go like, "uh, love, you order at the counter in front, thanks." but can say my girls were a little bit freaked out la. who wouldn't.

of course we didn't buy him cheese fries and milo. he didn't ask nicely. no please from him or anything like that. not that i would treat him even if he went on his knees and kiss my feet. anyway would you believe me if i tell you i'm short of cash myself???

i shared some stuff with my girls . something i had kept to myself for all these while. not that it's something that's been bothering me. that's the funny thing: i don't feel anything about it. i've never had. that's why i even brought it up. i wouldn't say i've let go, i wouldn't say that i'm still holding on either. more like i'm in the middle. more like i'm floating in the middle.

sometimes we know stuff. we just feel it. like love. we can't prove it, but we know it exist because we've felt it. like god. we can't prove that there's a god, but we know he exist because we feel him.

i'm feeling it right now. and that's what's keeping me, that's what's pushing the blood in my vein. i feel even if things are pretty rough between us, i know that we're cool. maybe you're right. that true friends never leave.

i said maybe.

the ward! from the toilet...shhh!

NOT a nurse, but a READER.

Someone special blogged @ 9:25 AM l

Saturday, January 20

and the last two days

do you remember during those primary/secondary school days, nurses would come over and conduct medical check-up? every year, teachers would collect our health booklets, and we'd be waiting in line to be examined by them nurses.

i remembered nurses then were very hostile and bitter and they scowled alot. i didn't understand why they had to scream at us.

now i do. now that i was one of them 'garang' nurses.

the kids were so uncontrollable! they wouldn't listen to instructions, they ran around, they made so much noise, they wouldn't sit still, they basically destructed our work flow.

it was fun:D

the last two days of my attachment, i was posted to Hong Wen School at Lavender to help the nurses there run those medical check-ups, which include the height and weight, audio test(for primary 1 and 2s), eye test, immunization(primary 1 and 6) etc. you should know. we've all been there:D

it was an eye opener for me, being on the other side. i wasn't waiting anxiously to be examined, i was the examiner. well. not really. we were really there to observe la. and it was one hell of an observer's kaleidoscopie(?). and Zaf would truly enjoy this line of work, being constantly around kids. because besides observing, we did help around and one of the things we did there was sayang2 the freaked-out kids waiting for their vaccine. yes, both primary 1, and 6.

turned out i sucked at that...................................... seeing my approach at answering their questions.

"yea, it will hurt. an ant bite?? you wish."
"of course the needle is sharp, otherwise it couldn't pierce through your thick skin right?"
"no, you must go for injection. it will protect you from deadly diseases in the future that might be fatal."
"fatal means it can kill you."

it's just so cute to see those 7-year-olds squeal in fright/gawk at you with eyes wide in sheer terror/basically run away from you. hehehe.

it's even cuter to see the 12-year-olds squeal in fright/gawk at you with eyes wide in sheer terror/basically run away from you. okay not really.

by 12, it's a must that you get the following vaccines against measles, mumps and rubella(MMR) and diptheria and tetanus(DT). a must? more like it's a law. so that's two jabs. one on each arm. yea. two jabs at a time. you'd think 12-year-olds would be brave. at least put on a front la. but you'd be surprise that some kids cried. i mean, shame on you!! majority of the primary ones didn't even flinch la:P

i said majority. there were a number who put up a scene. literally. was wailing their little lungs out and kicking and screaming. that's where we came in. held their little hands and legs down and covered their eyes. and other kids' too. i swear the needle created such a horrific chain reaction la. if the first kid cries, the rest of the kids will cry.

oh yea, there's also a vaccine against polio. but it's taken orally. it's insanely cute how the kids, both the 7 and 12-year old, thought the two drops of the bitter-tasting medicine were some sort of anaesthesia against the injections.

then again, i used to think that too like a decade ago :D

lets talk about the staff now. compared from the nurses at the ward, these nurses were much more easy going, considering all the stress. then again, i think the stress from energetic, almost satanic kids and the stress from sickly and demanding old patients give vastly different results la hor:)

i'd like to say my nurse manager is damn cool. as in, she's so funky. for a middle-aged nurse manager. she's got cool funky hair, cool funky pair of specs and wore cool funky sweater. for a middle-aged malay nurse manager. matter of fact, for ANY nurse la.

i flipped when a 10 year old called me auntie?! i was like, "EH. i'm only like 7, 8 years your senior okay???"

she did a quick math. "you 17 only?????"

i decided to stop fronting and started talking to them like a 17-year-old. "hehehhe. actually 18 this year. but yup! i'm still schooling like you lor."

"then why are you here? why you wearing a nurse uniform?" apparently the kid also decided to drop her front, stopped talking to me like i were some important person. in fact, where was that sweet little tone she used on me like 3 seconds ago???? you know, that manipulative sort of angelic tone we all had mastered at the age of 7?

it was finally 4pm. but i didn't want to leave!!!! :(

i've grown very fond so easily... or maybe the change from handling old grandfathers to little innocent children was just novel and refreshing. but i swear little kids are the cutest. how they look up to you like you're their role model.. makes one's heart soar. i think we all could use some boost to our self-esteem.

this girl was like, "if pain, you will help me blow?" and i was like, awwww..... and she trusted me with her water bottle which i kept with me throughout. i slung it over my shoulder and the staff nurses there said i looked like a kid's mother? but i didn't care. she trusted me with her bottle!!! that's big! i mean, you know how protective kids are with their stuff.

i rewarded myself for tolerating/going through these juicy 3 weeks with a little shopping at bugis that friday. bought myself something from the wallet shop. not really for me, but heh my camera needed a bag la:)

and its lens could use some exposure after being left unused for almost a month!!!! god knows i'm all rusty. time to work the shutter. and my fingers. and most importantly, my eyes and my mind. i forgot how blue the sky is.......when it's not raining, that is.

have i told you before, how fast my hair grows??????

emergency in ward 49

i have a love hate thing going on with you-know-what. i'm sure it's not terminally unhealthy. but in a long run, who knows? i can't keep going, "oh fuck. another day.." and then hoping it to end already when i haven't even started yet, let alone leave the house. that happens. like 4/5 of the time. hahahahha? here comes to big But.

But i never fail to enjoy myself (to an extent) and then at the end of the day, while waiting for Evelyn/Aisyah in the staff tea room, i'd go, "i'm glad i made it today/i'm glad i managed to get my ass out of bed."

the love hate thing:)

if only i were a light sleeper la. or a morning person. or someone who's so driven, just ANYONE whose subconscious mind doesn't occasionally but desperately voices out that he/she could be doing something else.

seriously? life would be more easier hor?

okay i didn't share with you this but (one of)my new year resolution(s) is to never ever fucking again question myself: WHY NURSING? trust me, it has grown old. been agonizing over it for the past 8 months. i do not wish to torment myself by asking myself that because it was only successful in making me feel worst. no matter what i say, no matter how to try to reason with my own self, it does not change anything. no matter how i candy-coat the lies, how i twist the words, run a whole big round around the truth. just can't lie to myself. i can tell myself this, but i know it's anything but.

guess i broke my new year resolution. a-fucking-gain. some things just cannot change.

EH. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A HAPPY ENTRY.

happy entry because today, 17 of January 2007, is(was?) my last posting in ward 49.

bittersweet la. sad thing was i didn't get to say goodbye to my uncles:( but to hell with the staff. they can kiss my ass. heh. well, i'd miss my fellow angels/nurses. all seven of you. wait, it's six, excluding me. yea. but i'm sure i'll see you guys again at the next posting which is in March:) looking forward to it. ...kindar. what the fuck am i without Eve/Durrani/Aisya/Chris/the other two whose name i still haven't catch....horrible of me, i know! but it don't matter because we've something going on :) something special.

i don't know, but when you work with people, especially in the kind of work i'm in, you realise that these people, they are like second-family. even if you've only known each other like for less than 15 days??? it's different when you've been tortured together under the same roof in the same ward. heh. it builds special bond. it builds you.

these people have seen me in my most unglamarous. and vice versa. haha. UNFORTUNATELY i couldnt get a nice group shot :( in fact i didn't get any. accept the one above. because of the different shifts and breaks. that was a little sad :( because i have the craziest idea for the shots. i wanted one in the lift..very the grey's anatomy:P it would have looked so good lor what the fuck.

next time la :)

ward 49, it's been an aweshum experience.

i'll miss all the 6 brothers(uncles, really) in the second cubicle. seriously:) they are the cutest thing la. because of them, team 1 was so slack. instead of keeping an eye on 12 patients, Du and I took care of only 6. the brothers real bonded i tell you. they even shared urinals :) which was plain wrong la, can? :D they massaged each other, offered to trim the other's hair when he complained it's too long... only Uncle 12's mobility a bit unstable, and we didn't want our patients to be pushed into the surgery room to stitch up his ear. and they are like multi-racial la fulermakkk!!!!!!! <3

last day ALOT OF DRAMA seh. i got a fucked up enrolled nurse to work with. she's like an ugly cow with braces. because she wears braces? uh yea. anyways:) "today's Lela's last day," Durrani announced when we were all in the tea room. and i was like, aww sweet. until he went: "lets beat her up!" but he ended up giving me a.............. haha. then again, nah.

i got back from the pharmacy, and there was this familiar looking uncle walking through those automatic doors. he was wearing casual clothes. probably just discharged, i thought, but why use the staff doors????? but eh, where's his shoes?????

next thing i heard voices from inside the ward going: "mister, come back! SOMEBODY CALL SECURITY!!!!!!!!" and the uncle started running. then i blocked him. but he pushed me down and as he tried to step over me i grabbed him ankle and he fell

yea right :)

but yea, there was this uncle trying to escape la. so nonchalant about it... he was dressed and all, but he wasnt wearing shoes, which got the nurses' attention, otherwise we had thought he was just a relative. we did called security. it was so cool. "call security" are words i thought i'd only hear on tv.

the poor uncle kanna dragged by securities back to his bed. he was screaming and kicking and making such a scene, it wasn't funny :(

actually i've 10000000000000001 things to share. but i can only type so much and you can only read not so much. i understand your attention span and you must understand my time constraint.

xomg i'm clueless about tomorrow :O suddenly i'd rather go back to ward 49.

bed 12 is the bed 36

this is why you should never walk in the rain. it gives you diarrhoea. now i'm drained. but what the fuck it's friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more like fart-day really. hoho. okay la, rain don't give you diarrhoea. but rain definitely give you pain. i just rhymed the paragraph la please:P

i'm running a mild fever and i feel like i could use a good fuck. meaning sleep. i hope i'll be awright by sunrise tomorrow because it's Kama's 19th birthday and hell i am so going to be there. insyaallah.

It's Ginny's 81th too:P hehehhehehhe. HAPPY ADVANVED, LOVE:) i miss you kindar!

like i haven't been shooting because of you-know-what.

i haven't been talking to you-know-who since that day.

i haven't been going friendster HAHAHHAHA. friendster sucks.

what else. come on come on come on.

haven't been studying. or doing the presentations due, but we'll be meeting tomorrow morning at Coffee Beans:) WHEE. Pru, Wany, Eera and JJ = lots of LOVE. and COFFEE xomg what can go wrong. actually alot can go wrong. but worry(in advance) is a sack of shit.

you-know-what have been fun to an extent, and then fuck the rest. :)

suddenly i have sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much to share. rest assured i'll blog the events throughout this weekend.

xomg i can't wait already.

what the fuck i think i'll just tell you now la. the gist. ehehe.

remember bed 36 from ward 47?

well. THIS POSTING it's BED 12 ward 49(the ward i'm thrown at).

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHA. he's under my cubicle but apparently i was so busy that i didn't notice him. so he's not an 11 out of 10 that i was instantaneously attracted. then again, i don't get attracted so damn easily. and vice versa HAHAHAHA.

but what the hell HOW COULD IT HAPPEN!!! more like, how could it DIDN'T happen?? ..where was i during his admission again???

alot of guys may catch my eye but none catches my heart. not that it's a sad thing. ..well, that depends on which perspective you're looking frm la hahahahahahahha. okay. well. i've forgotten what i wanted to say THANKS.

bed 12 did caught my heart, but for a different reason.

i was assisting SN Catherine in changing his dressing: he's a case of groin abscess. an abscess is defined as a collection of pus in tissue, organs, or a confined space, which is usually caused by a bacterial infection. so. he's got an abscess in the groin area. so yea.

i'll describe the wound: it is bloody. and hollow. not that i measured how deep it is but you could roughly tell: SN Cat pulled out some sort of a long narrow horizontal gauze. she pulled it out with the forcep. and kept on pulling. like a magician pulling a long chain of hankerchief from his stupid hat.

i was like... okay that's the thing. i was cool. like i've seen it all my life. like it's normal to have a hole in your groin. you can keep stuff in it!! yea!!!!

i glanced at the patient and grimaced with him. he was lying down legs spread apart, face spelt PAIN. but he was still so man :) he's man because he wasn't afraid to show pain. and the fact that there were 2 female student nurses his age looking down at him and his exposed groin...............

yea he's 18. and his name is ........ well, can't say la hor. patient's confidentiality right? right.

the blanket was covering his penis.

i'm not used to it.

HAHHAHAHHAHA.

as in, i'm used to balls being flashed in my line of work, right? and the owner of the balls(?) are so cool with it. well i'm sure they didn't ENJOY being seen without their pants by some teenage student nurses, but what can they do? anyway they've crazier things to worry about like if they are still going to live tomorrow that sort of thing....

back to bed 12:D

i'm sure you know where i am heading la hor :)

actually it's no biggie. the novelty wil wear off. come to think of it, his features seem vague to me now. but i'm sure he's nice :) if he can handle pain(groin abscess kind of pain, and the humiliation-of-being-observed-by-2-young-and-apparently-deprived-of-you-know-what-student-nurses pain), he's nice. i wonder if he loves coffee and has a fetish for shutterbugs:O

hahahahha! what a mouthful la.

so Eve and i were gushing about bed 12 all the way to tampines. then when we found out from reliable Durrani that bed 12 really is just 18,...HAH. we turned hormonal in a matter of seconds. told you we were deprived. fact was, we had already boarded our separate buses, so we were ooh-la-la-ing via sms. and i was giggling to myself. visibly and audioly. it was so silly but hey i am 17 right?

frivolous!!

ah du!!!!!!

revenge is sweet:)

"Du. i'm so sorry. something cropped by. i need my shift back tomorrow:("

his reply came right away: "can you call me?"

i was in the bus and i was already guffawing to myself. was like, heheheh this is fun this is funnn!! put on my a-truck-run-down-my-cat voice: "hello, Du? howwww????"

lots of stress on the other line. "call Evelyn, call Evelyn..."

"i'll try..." a dramatic pause. "if cannot how?"

more stress.

couldn't take it anymore. "oi."

"huh?"

"JUST KIDDING la. aku maen2 jer." i let it sink it. then: "HAH. HAHAHHA. LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!" terkekek-kekek aku ketawer kat bus sorang-sorang macam budak sewel.

"LELA!!!!!!!!! SKALI AKU JEROTOS KAU."

"you started it! now we're even la."

next thing i knew i was helping him out with his case study.......... speaking of which.............. but oh, 3 cheers for sweet revenge:)

unbelievable

UNBELIEVABLE. i can't believe it. pulling a prank on me like that. Durrani, i can understand. but Eve too??? THANKS! i almost had a heart attack okay? i bet they are in the bus on the way home from the ward right this minute, laughing their heads off at me as i type. i was like, "WAHH YOU. TOO FREE IS IT? bus journey from tampines to woodlands too boring is it? until you have to resort to giving me a prank sms? asswipes:P"

i love them to bits.

i've been pulling my hair out because i am so stressed up i want to harm somebody. irgh. i can't even complete a stupid simple case study without going insane. when's the last time i did a decent nursing care plan??? freaking months ago. am on the verge of hurling myself out the window. ceh, drama. no la, not window. more like hurling myself to bed. i am so tired and my back hurts with all the work in the ward and my legs are killing me.

it's funny how all these aches didn't bother me until now. as in i was fine the whole day. only when i want to settle down and rest after a day's work, then it starts to kick on. the excruciating, tormenting aches. here, there, and down there and everywhere. i sound like my patients. "UNCLE? PAIN WHERE?" "AIYA, EVERYWHERE LA PAIN."

i am so unfit. hahaha. that goes without saying actually. my only form of exercise is running after patients under FP(fall precautions). yet another exaggeration.

today has been the fifth day of attachment. my god, i'm actually counting. hohoho. i didn't have time to blog last night because it was my afternoon shift. so by the time i got home it was 1030 and by midnight i was zzzzz. like i need all the sleep i could get because it was morning shift for me the next day. as in today. that's right.

flashback siket ar, beb.

MONDAYYYYYYYYY!!! i reported half an hour early because i wanted to start on my case study. was greeted by Durrani who was having his break when i came: "hehehe. the one i've been waiting for has finally arrived!" i glanced over my shoulder. who me?

he requested for a shift-exchange on Tuesday, Thursday and Monday the next week. he has floorball tournament. ahh. i didn't mind. because i have Siti Aisyah<3 who's such a doll la, can??? :)

"oh Lela. Lela oh Lelaaa.." sang Durrani, making me want to crawl up the wall. away from him.. "one more favour from you, can? kau la kawanku dunia akhirat..."

i recovered instantaneously and pfft-ed: "like since when sia?" kekekeke.

sometimes i forgot that he was from Peirce too. so he knows some people i know...........................

i was alone yesterday. as in, no Su with me. it was just me going solo. oh yea. and Helmi, this enrolled nurse who reminds me of a big teddy bear. sooo cute. unfortunately we got off the wrong foot la and i was so confident that he hated my guts. heh because i was such a slow-paced worker. but still, i do complete the stuff that i was told to do. only over a longer span la:D BUT STIIILL.

so this morning when i saw him again during passing report i was like, oh no not again... but thank god Su was with me :) then again, thank god i switched shift with Du:P

turned out Helmi's not so bad la :)

he got me to bring him a plug-stopper or something from the nurses' station. uh oh. i hate it when they do that. like when they get you to get them stuff. because knowing me, i'd screw up a simple instruction. like i did the day before, when Helmi wanted me to get him a stickless needle. i brought him something else and he was like, "tsk. nie aper?" and i was like, :(

but today, for some reason, i didnt screw up:D "it's bright yellow," he called out after me, stressing on the colour. i was like, orh! then i came back like 60 seconds later: "this one?" and he was like, "YEA!" and i went, "YEAAAA!" and we cheered, "woohoo!!" Su and Du were like, "..aper jer."

put Helmi and Du together equals to TROUBLE. actually, if you put any two malay boys together, there tend to be a lot of drama la. and Helmi has a knack of bossing me around la. and while i was doing the parameters, the denomite(?) shut off by itself because it was running low on batts. so i was a little pissed off because the little machine was making alot noise.

"press the big button twice," Helmi said.

i pressed the big button.

apparently the wrong big button.

oh, this is normal. i told you, i suck sometimes.

"not THAT one. the other one."

and i went like :O "........that's a button?????" that, is normal too. i told you right, i suck? you don't believe...........

at the background, he and Du laughed at my blonde-moment.

"i didn't know that, right!!!!!!" i snapped, pushing the big button a little too hard and the denomite almost toppled over.

"whoa. sensitive.."

Su came in from behind the curtains. i think Helmi got her to bring him something from the utility's room. but he changed his mind and was like, "oh no need already." and Su pretended to look annoyed and was like, "TSK."

"eh why girls so sensitive ar!"

i was searching for a plug to plug in the machine.

"on the wall la dey," Du said. "there's no plug down there."

i moved the curtain. and showed him the plug at the foot the wall. HAH! look who's the blondie now! Du was apparently embarrassed but Helmi was like, "it's okay, it's okay."

did you know that last time i don't know when but last time, there was a band called Lela? interesting....................

late night bus journey is my new love therapy.

"okay whatever. i'll just go ahead with it."

"right back at ya."
"no need, you can take it back and keep it."
"you're a good person."
"i've got nothing on ya."
"good, because i don't want anything from you anyway. see you."
"ive got nothing on ya means i pale in comparison with you." you imbecile.
"whatever. do i look like i care what you meant."
"okay so i was wrong about that. thanks!"

that F word

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFRIDAY!! YEA!

i hate it when foreign SNs throw instructions at me. foreign SNs meaning staff nurses from foreign countries. like India(xomg, Indian accent siket la punyer pekat!), Myanmar, China(to think i was getting used to China twang). like there was this SN from India, who was saying something to me. seemed like an awful lot of important stuff, but it can't be, because she finished the sentence in like 0.9 seconds, and then zoom she was gone.

i was like, "wait. what? oh okay."

and this Myanmar RN, who was such a bitch to me. but she was carrying a urinal filled with pee, so i knew better.. "ask the man if he open his bowel," she said, pointing at a malay old man with her chin. i did so. "ask alert or not." i was like uh??? alert? how do i ask someone if he or she is alert?

"alert?" i echoed back. i had my infamous Wols face.

"ALERT," she raised her fucking at me. "open bowel alert or not?"

i turned my puzzled face to the man. i was expecting something wet and smelly down my back.

they say the nursing PROFESSION is noble, not the NURSES themselves. i bet nurses are an evil lot. ..i should know, right?

suddenly the old man interrupted us: "yea. alot, alot."

i was like, what the fuck? "OHHH. aLOT. i thought you said ALERT. sounded like it." then i ran away.

every time it's about to hit 1500, something urgent always crops up. like uncle Bed 3. Su and i were making what we thought would be our last round, as it was 20 minutes to 3, when we came face to face with an exposed dick. not really face to face la. but we were shocked. i mean, who in the right mind would strip off his pants in front of other patients? luckily there weren;t anymore visitors or surely kanna sue.

"UNCLE ED! WHAT'S UP! didn't Evelyn tell you to call for us when you want to wee wee?"

then i remembered. Eve probably did told him, but in malay. see, the first time we saw him, we taught he was a malay. spoke to him in that language but he didn't respond. "mau apa, Pakcik...." glanced at wrist tag. "...Edward????????"

anyhoos. so we had to spend the next 30 minutes securing his ass with a diaper because he took the last one off by himself. then we changed his bedsheet. the same thing happened today. only it was Durrani's problem. i tried to walk pass him like he was invisible but couldn't because he had that face:P That face....

it was 10 minutes to 3, for crying out loud. let me go home! but noooo. i had to stay with Uncle Ed while Durrani went to get the stuff. WHICH HE TOOK FOREVER. the cubicle was beginning to stink up and i was drowning in it. i could only take so much so i went off to hunt for him, leaving my dear patient in his wet bed.

he was in the utility room, with Eve, who was tugging out pieces from the damp cotton roll. it was agonizingly, torturously LEMBAB. i was like at the door, gawking at them, tugging on it. i cannot believe this. "EH. no need already i think the urine evaporated," i said sarcastically. i waited for them to stop laughing.

the process of changing was even slower. because uncle didn't want the fan on, so we were sweating. and i was swearing because it was friday and i wanted to go home. Du rushed out to get the linen trolley in the middle of it. and uncle got a shock when we wiped his bare ass with the damp tissues. he yelped and i got so scared.

"cold," he said.

we went: "LERR."

the bed was drenched, we ran out of the damp tissues. Du's gloves kept tearing because he's got fat hands. got me throwing the whole box of gloves at him. Eve walked in through the curtains only to help wipe the sweat off his forehead. i was like, "GEE THANKS, EVE. PLEASE COME AGAIN."

it was finally done after like 40 minutes, when a pro could have done all that AND fold the blanket neatly beneath the mattress like they do in the hotels in like 14 minutes flat. i winded the bed down, and when i turned, i was alone. alone with the trolley and the dirty bag with the dirty diaper. dust balls rolled by. Du was nowhere in sight.

i waited for him to walk past. before i blocked the trolley in his way. then i said ..........BUHBYEEE. ran like the wind. heh but i'm not normally like that la. it's just that F word.

2nd day of attachment

working at an all-male medical ward 49, i'm having a ball(pun unintended), learning alot of things and making beautiful friends. staff not included. because staff there sucks, can? except Anna. she's sweet. but the rest are just cocky and hostile and i wish i could strangle them with the stethoscope and squirt normal saline into their eyes.

i've violent thoughts for a nurse. i bet i'm not the only one.

should have seen Supiah, a Year 3 in my team: she was cleaning this old guy's butt when he soiled himself right there and then. she was like, '!!!!!!!' uncle made it worst because he laughed. but apologetic sort of. i cringed at the all-too-familiar smell that filled the cubicle. ow come onnnnn....uncle, you could have given us a sign, like a fart or something. then we would have known and prepare ourselves. yup, like run and get the hell out of there.

2nd day was awright. was 2 minutes late because i couldn't wake up. rabaks. i hope that won't happen again.

i did dressing today.

CI Sarah(who is like Da best CI in the whole wide fucking world) was like, "Lela. You're Team 1?" i nodded my head profoundly, like i was proud that i was in that team or something. "Come, let's do dressing for Bed 3."

i wanted to go like: "whoa did i say i was Team 1? no i meant, team 4." but of course there's no such thing as a Team 4. i'm team 1 and i'm screwed, i was thinking. XOMG i'm going to do a dressing on a HUMAN. not mannes. but humans = real = real blood = real screwed(me) because i was so unprepared. like, wham you're it. NO i don't wanna!!!! *chase around the room*

but i did anyway. i was like, "dressing? bed 3? sure, sure. give me a moment while i go wash my hands." so i washed my hands.

turned on the tap. water gushed out. oops. too much power. i turned the tap off a little. a little too little. until tomorrow also i won't finish washing. turned it back on. just right. washed. squirted some soap into my hand. it went SQUIRT! i could bathe an elephant with that amount of soap. i smiled nervously at one of the patient who was looking at me weird. did the standard hand wash. wooo. foam. pretended some got into my eye. i was stalling, if you still hadn't gotten it.

i may looked like i knew what i was doing and that what i was doing was the right thing. like i just went ahead, humming my song while cleaning the nasty wound(Uncle had tore the macropore from his skin, and not only the sticky macropore, but the whole patch of skin underneath it came off! literally!!!!!!!!)

but i screwed it really. fortunately CI was cool about it:) she didn't scream like they do during assessment. Chris brought up a point: they are so strict during lab, but after that, nobody cares. what the fuck right? like i contaminated so much, but still went ahead with the dressing.

i hope the wound won't kanna infected la :O

Su told me some stuff and now i'm like super scared. i don't want to go to year 3 :(

1st day of attachment

went great:P but can say, i was a little slack la. could tell by the way i push the denomite(?). the sound of the rollers ..rolling, along the floor wasn't a yay-let's-take-parameters! more like i'd-rather-pick-cat-furs-off-my-uniform-than-take-another-freaking-parameters.

but i cannot stress any more: parameters, though basic, are vital shit. ho. hohoho. but it's just so boring la. give me something more. like feeding. i love to feed them :)

day 1 was from 8 to 4.

nurse manager gave us a pep talk. goodness. she can go on forever. if i were a nurse manager and were to address a small group of anxious student nurses with an attention span of a retarded goldfish, i'd make it short and sweet: "i hope you're aware of what you've gotten yourself into. you'd see never-ending cases of old, smelly men asking for a diaper-change and farting in your face when you're doing it. but nevertheless: HAVE FUN. remember, there's always an element of fun in even the most drudgery-est of work. YES it's fun wiping old folks' butts! search for that element, and the key for that is patience and a zero sense of smell. i assure you'll be just fine!"

that's not short nor sweet, is it?

she introduced us to our Clinical Instructor. to tell you the truth, i wasn't into it at first. because CIs play a part in whether or not i'm going to enjoy this posting. i was hoping we wouldn't get another sarcastic CI like CI Kat. i wondered if there'd be one as insensitive as Mrs. Ong, the previous one we had for the last week.

our prayers were answered. CI Sarah is like a clinical instructor fallen from above:P she's just so Nice and non-judgmental, with a patient of a saint and an easy humour of a .....decent person..? haha? i like her:)

we were divided into teams. Me, team 1, with Susu and Dudu:P Supiah and Durrani. Susu is aweshum, Dudu is funny, and i is Lela and together we make a fun team. hoho how self-conceiting to self-declare yourself an adjective. macam maner punyer besar gitu! ELEHH. HAHAHA.

the first thing Du said when he saw me this morning was oddly, "so i heard your phone sucks and your computer lags. and you made a friendster account!" i was like, nerr..nice seeing you again, Durrani!! and i made a new friend of his: Siti Aisyah. who is the coolest:P unfortunately they are on a different shift so. shortage of manpower. who's going to help me lift Bed 8???? i'm talking about a Whale here:P

uh huh. so i finally got a new phone. it's awright la:) i love it that its 2 megapixels and i could bluetooth the pictures to the laptop. easy peasy lemon squeezy. technology, i'm a sucker for you. kuakuakua. i am so going to snap pictures in the ward. if i could i would, dammit. but if i did, it's going to be my head, baby. what a bummer. never mind, i've ways:P

xomg it's tomorrow

i've fever. well. i feel feverish.

just this first day. just this very short first day(8 hours is nothing la right?). then i'm through. as in, it's always the first day that's such a bone-wreck. i'm confident if i have fun on my first day, i'll have fun for the next 3 weeks. it'll be a blast.

i don't know why Syak is complaining. i mean, secondary 1 is the best time in your whole youth. mine was. and i don't even want to know why Momster is complaining about her work. uh huh yea, shelving giant boxes of tissues are sooo stressing ;)

i'd trade roles with them anytime.

i have a bad row with my sisters. they are pairing up against me. this is bad. they never do that. because normally they hate each others guts. they hate each other so much and they are so horrid and ugly that they beginning to look like future potential murderers to me.

i still do think they are potential murderers. in fact, i strongly believe. i strongly believe i'd be one of their potential victims too.

pray for me :)

i hope they won't haunt me

and i don't mean memories of the past 2006. i meant:

yes, lovelies. that is a cemetery. i went to the cemetery to shoot. first day of the new year. because i fell asleep by the window while waiting for the morning sun rise. i missed the first sunrise of 2007, damn it! couldn't wake up. was experiencing a hangover. yes, i knew i was drunk! hence the new friendster account! hahahahhahaha.

i just had to huh? i'm already regretting it la. but it's okay. we shall see how far i can go.

back to the cemetery.

unfortunately i wasn't on my own. obviously.... ha ha.

there was lalang growing out of dad's crib(hahahhaa. Lina said i'm sick because of the twisted humour i used. "and what's with the camera!?"). hadn't visited since the fasting month, if i'm not wrong. it's cool la. ..wait. what is? i don't know. i'm just so glad i brought my baby along.

was like, "hey Papa. look at me now. i'm sure you can see me la hor. i've got a camera now. it's 800 bucks. heh. i'm going to go free lance into photography insyaallah. til then, i'm doing nursing. yes. your baby girl is a nurse." i don't know which would freak him out more: the 800-dollar camera or my being a nurse. i've a feeling it's the latter.

okay for more pictures, you know the drill right? come on, it's the new year. instill some discipline, why don't you? hahahha. okay.
